Nordic Council of Ministers' project on facilitating business connections in bio-economy is being implemented in the North-West Russia, with SKBIC responsible for activities in the Republic of Karelia.

Specialists working with employment issues for disabled people traveled through Karelia, starting in Kostomuksha and finishing their work in Sortavala.
Woodworking companies from Karelia will visit companies and wood productions in the Skellefteå municipality, the center of contemporary wooden construction in Sweden.
The seminar was a meeting place for the municipalities of Sweden and NW Russia, where they discussed progress of their projects and basic approaches to implementation.
